For Outreach Night, students in grade 2 have decided to raise money and collect needed supplies for theCalgary Humane Society.
In class we have been learning how to identify and count coins. To connect this with our Outreach project,we ask all families at West Springs to consider donating their spare change to this cause. Every cent counts! In addition, we ask that you consider donating a “wish list” item: https://www.calgaryhumane.ca/donate/wishlist/ During the evening of December 7th, we will have coin counting and “animal advice” card-making stations set up. Please join us! Collection containers will be located in the main office as well as in all grade 2 classrooms. Monetary and wish list donations will be collected prior to the event and during Outreach Night.

Thank you to all parents who came to conferences. It was great to have your child share all the wonderful things they are doing and learning in grade 2. Have a great weekend!
Inline skating starts Monday! If you are volunteering please show up at our scheduled times (see calendar on our website homepage).
Students have finished their 3rd week of Word Work (aka Spelling). Starting Monday, if they have not completed the booklet they have to take it home to finish it. I did give them the option to take it home this weekend. I have updated the November calendar on the homepage of our website. There is a lot going on in November and December will be busy too! With all the snow and cold please make sure your child is going to school with proper winter attire. These are winter jacket, winter pants, winter boots, winter gloves, scarves [preferably tube scarves as these can't get caught on playground equipment] and hat [toque]. We still go outside when it is snowing and when it is cold. We do not go outside when it is colder than -20 degrees celsius. Lastly, please see the weekly math game on our math page - it should be on their by Friday afternoon. |
