Thank you to all who were able to come for student led conferences. I know the students were very excited to show you what we've been learning in grade 2 and how they have been successful in their learning. I hope you all have a safe and rejuvenating spring break. This means that April is coming, so please check out the calendar on the homepage of our class website to see what is coming. We do still need 1 more volunteer for our April 10th in-school field trip. You can sign-up by clicking on the link in the post below. Also, we have a few more spots for swimming volunteers in May, so please sign up! Thanks to those of you who have signed up! We really appreciate it.

Please sign-up to be a part of this exciting, multiple day field trip: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0844afa62fa4f94-swimming/65942312 Students are enjoying researching their chosen animal from the various books they have brought to school. If they are to be returned to the public library soon please renew their books as we are planning to use them until spring break. From their reading, they are quickly understanding how to take jot notes from what they read. Early next week they will be using the internet to fill in any gaps in their research. The next step will be to turn their research into sentences using their own words.
In social studies we have begun a gratitude journal. At the end of each school day your child will be writing about or drawing things that they are grateful for. This task stems from the First Nations practice of being thankful for everything they had. On Tuesday we will be having a special guest presenting on the Blackfoot Nation. We look forward to learning about their ways of life and some oral stories. Don |
